Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet neighbourhood situated in The West Island of Montreal is one of those "sleepy" spot. Most people who do not know the name mistakenly believe that the West Island extends westward from Montreal. In fact it is the West Island includes everything westward of that city Lachine. Many times, it is credited as the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is the case, her stay there was not long. Brugel grew up in Courtice outside Oshawa Ontario. Her early ambition was to become a dancer, but the rapid growth of her body led to she outgrew the dancers she was with. In a report by Toronto Star, she revealed her height in heels as at 6'1 inches tall. After I outgrew the male partners, I quit. Former dancers often turn into acting and Brugel wasn't an exception. A drama teacher at her high school helped push Brugel in the direction she was looking for. The teacher was the one who encouraged her to try out for the role of Anne for their school's annual production. A teacher suggested that she pursue a role in the school's annual show. The show led her to receive being awarded a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and graduated with an Associate in Fine Arts degree in 2000. For the last two decades her career has seen her appear in over 60 movies and TV productions. Her most famous role was the one of Rita (shown beneath) in the television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian on the Season 1 cast of the show as well as appearing only on occasion, was the only Canadian.
